THE REFENSE TRAINING IN DETAIL
The Zurich City Police has been training with the Refense Training System in Zurich since 2019. They produced a video for the Swiss Digital Days in 2020, to demonstrate the benefits of the technology.
What do Refense Training Solutions Offer?
The most important information about Refense's virtual reality solutions at a glance.
The Refense Advanced Tactical Training Simulator enables complex training scenarios that can only be trained at a very high financial cost otherwise. These include life-threatening situations in general, active shooter scenarios, hostage situations, counter terrorism training and negotiation training under stress.
We offer training simulators for police units, first responders and the military.
Up to 10 participants can freely move and interact in an immersive and highly realistic environment inside a 200 m² / 2150 sq.ft. arena. Participants experience stress-levels comparable to a real mission.
Instructors have the ability to directly influence the simulation by controlling virtual civilians and hostiles, or leaving decisions up to the artificial intelligence (AI) system. Refense has its own team of developers, so that custom features and scenarios can be created.
"BEST IN CLASS"
The combination of state-of-the-art technologies enables the use of full-body avatars, deployment of items (including weapons with recoil simulator), accurate tracking and visually compelling scenarios.
AFTER ACTION REVIEW
Using the "Refense After Action Review" tool, the training session can be further analyzed, focusing on the performance of a single participant or the entire team. The recording can be accessed remotely, enabling off-site instructors to provide additional input.
By utilizing different 4D effects (e.g. wind, heat, smell), the degree of immersion is dramatically increased for all participants.
Our dedicated team supports customers throughout the whole process, from requirements analysis to on-site implementation.
We train your instructors and provide comprehensive documentation.
Shock belts are used to simulate injuries and to further increase the stress-level during training missions.
Objects such as knives and flashlights can be incorporated into the training as mixed reality objects.
FEATURES IN DEVELOPMENT
Using the Refense Enhanced Level Editor, partners can create their own scenarios using our modular system.
